Al's First Father's Day

Conner and I tried really hard to make Al's first Father's Day memorable, but Al was cranky! He had gotten up early and had gone to the garden by himself in the AM. He headed home and caught a quick shower and then went to usher at Mass. When he came home, Conner and I were up and I asked him to watch Conner, while I caught a quick shower. Then it was time to go to my sister's for the Father's Day BBQ. Al hadn't eaten the Father's Day Doughnuts that Conner and I went to get Al while he was gone at Mass and he was getting grouchy. By the time, we ate at Jamie's, he was so grumpy.
Then we walked down to the playground at Jamie's complex and Conner got to swing in a swing, which he loved. Then we came back and opened gifts, watched some baseball and golf on Jamie and John's TV. Then we left and came home. We stopped by Al's folks and picked up Al's gardening bag from his car and then we finally got home and convinced Al to open his gifts from Conner and I. He is excited to shop for a new grill from us.
We went to dinner at Ohio late at about 8PM and they had sold out of their Father's Day Special, so grumpy Al reappeared. We are supposed to spend Monday together doing fun things as a family, but Al is gone to the garden again this AM, as I write this, so we will see.
